Living The Life: Making The Ocean’s Six Mixtape.In the event this mixtape isn’t a success, I can still appreciate JD and the boys for attempting to bring the Ocean 6 idea to the musical forefront instead of it just being a brag fest amongst rich industry chums. If JD’s sentiment holds true, we’ll see musical contributions from Usher, Johnta Austin, Trey Songz, JD and B.Cox, which serves as an interesting concoction of talent. Unfortunately, the first effort, shown above, isn’t what I thought it would be. Around the 2:25 mark you can see JD looping up a particular stretch of  Bobby Blue Bland’s “Aint No Love” in which I thought he was going to spit over, but to my surprise, he didn’t. The beat’s not bad, but it sounds like he copy, pasted and positioned the parts where he wanted them. Hey, to each his own….good effort tho. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how the other 5 contribute to the project and/or this cut.
