Last night, NYC-based marketing/PR firm the 135th Street Agency kicked off BET Hip Hop Awards Week with its 5th Annual BBQ – now in Atlanta for the first time (instead of Harlem). On a beautiful starry night, over 400 VIPs packed Piedmont Park’s Magnolia Hall, including event co-hosts Fonzworth Bentley and Kelly G (BET’s EVP Music Programming) along with featured DJs Drama, Trauma and Traci Steele. Guests sipped complimentary Remy V cocktails and FUZE drinks while chowing on hot dogs, hamburgers, bbq chicken, potato salad, corn, Popeye’s fried chicken and an assortment of cupcakes from Cocktail Cupcakes and Tasty Cakes ATL. While attendees danced and dined, notables such as French Montana, Da Brat, Ray J, Dondria, Verse Simmonds, Devyne Stephens, Lil Duval, Jovita Moore (WSB TV anchor), Kwanza Hall (Atlanta City Council), Faune Watkins, D.Woods, Shanti Das, Derek J and comedian Shawty mixed and mingled.
