Rise of The ILLest x S.O.B.’s recap On the day of September 26th, 2011 music artist WordSpit and his team (Team ILLest) coordinated a concert for a cause titled Rise of The ILLest at the legendary S.O.B.’s. Sponsored by international lifestyle brand and clothing company Rocawear and in partnership with MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation which helps raise awareness on HIV/AIDS as well as educate on how to prevent contracting the disease. Rise of The ILLest concert which was hosted by www.YouHeardTheNew.com’s own Low Key has been frequently labeled as the best event to end the summer. With multiple products, show tickets, and hats (sponsored by New Era) raffled off to help raise money for MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation, the night was filled with loving and supporting vibes. Gracing the stage with amazing performances all while painter Demont (most known for painting during Raheem DeVaughn performances) were R&B male group Phaze 3, Acoustic guitar player/singer Olamide, R&B singer Cocoa Sarai, Hip- Hop recording artist Dremur and headliner, creator of Rise of The ILLest Wordspit. An estimated 300+ people were in attendance along with B.E.T.’s own Alexis jay, Sony/BMG Music Entertainment’s Anthony Ellis, celebrity eye wear designers Coco and Breezy, ThisIs50.com/ G-Unit Records comedian Jack Thriller and more. In the hopes of inspiring others to come together for a cause, Rise of The ILLest also helped inform others on one of the most deadly diseases, introduced the performers to a few new fans, and made one small step to making the world better.
