  1. yeah, he’s kinda soft. but who cares?
rozay’s hart, weezy’s hart, Kanye’s hart, ALL OF THEM; (at least they’re acting hart)
    we need someone soft.
let sherbet be soft, he’s unique in what he does. and thats great.
dude, even if he’s pussy, he’s more an idol than any other popular rap artist.
I like his style, his charm, how he talks (to women) and his melodies in his music.

if you dont like it, dont listen to it.

I like the major shift in the lyrics from:

any other rap artist: “Fuck that bitch, she got nice tits”
    to
Drake: “I wanna love her, she’s beautiful”

the choice of words is important…

  2. I just realized that “hart” must be spelled HARD …. haha.

  3. aka the truth

I gotta say I’ve been coming to this site for years now and these videos are absolutely brilliant. Idk why more sites don’t do this cuz honestly its what we all do. sit around the room and discuss hip hop with different people and personalitys. for the record yeah the record is “soft” if you will, but its beautiful music. Drake may be the best song maker out right now and even if you don’t love him singing all the time you have to appreciate the quality of the music. and for the record people would be freaking the fuck out if drake was going hard the whole album so they need to cut the bullshit. He has one line about catchin a body on headlines and people already crucify him on that shit. meanwhile he acts like himself and gets the pussy label for it. maybe im in the minority here but many more dudes can relate to a “marvins room” rather than a “hard in the paint” or “john”. and truth be told we’re gonna back on drakes career catalog years from now and see a shit load of classics that stand the test of time unlike a lot of the stuff thats hot right now.

  4. First off great site for hip-hop news. My daughter who is going to school to be a sound engineer and producer told me about Drake several years ago. Myself being and old man (52) I have been around long enough to know that Drake has his place in hip-hop along with the so called Hard artist out there. What ever music you listen to needs variety in the genre, or the music will never sustain and keep growing. I think to label Drake’s music soft or give it a negative label is somewhat unfair, I think it’s just different. I don’t think that the tracks he’s done with Ross, Jay, or Wayne would be considered soft. Maybe the fact that he sings gives people that impression, but If they could “carry a tune” they would do it too, I have no doubt
about that. How ever you label it, its all Music that all it is, Hard or Soft the more types of hip-hop we get, all listeners and consumers win in the end.
