StarrZ is an artist and personality hailing out of the DMV and gears up for the release of his full-length project “Momma Named Me Colby” this summer. Back in October StarrZ performed for 10,000 fans as an opener for Tech N9ne at Red Rocks out in Colorado, and this winter took his talents to television on Oxygen’s reality series “Last Squad Standing” where ultimately his squad ended up taking home the grand prize. If you are unfamiliar “Last Squad Standing” was a mixture of “Survivor” meets “Big Brother”.
Now as we gear closer to the release of “Momma Named Me Colby”, StarrZ releases a video for his single “Wayne Jones”. Wayne was a Baltimore legend so it’s only right that StarrZ pays homage to those that came before him in the city. The Rod Lee produced cut is a remake of another Baltimore legend, Tim Trees, local hit “We Don’t Love Them” from the early 2000’s. What’s special about StarrZ is he actually knows his history within the culture during a time where many may not possess the knowledge nor care to do the same which sets StarrZ apart from the competition. For now, watch the gritty street tale of “Wayne Jones” and keep this budding DMV artist on your radars!
