Because I Felt Like It: Video: Nas ft. Quan – Just A Moment

March 16, 2012 |  by  |  BECAUSE I FELT LIKE IT, MUSIC VIDEOS  |  3 Comments  |  Share  |

With Nas’ “The Don” single impacting yesterday I thought I’d dig into the Nas vault. I deicided to post “Just A Moment” with Quan from his “Street’s Disciple” album. The hook by Quan is one of my favorites, ever. This is a incredible record, helped me through alot back at school. Everytime I listen to it I just close my eyes and think, just drift away into another place, that’s the sign of a powerful record. So, can we please pour some liqour..

Because I Felt Like It: Video: Notorious B.I.G. – Big Poppa

I’m a laidback dude, very rarely do I get into heated debates or let shit wild me but today I have had not one, not two, but THREE heated arguments on who was the better MC, Tupac or Biggie. I wasn’t siding for either of them, they were both completely different artists and will ALWAYS be regarded as two of the greatest artists to ever grace a microphone. So why choose? Ofcourse people have their preferences but come on, we should just be enjoying their music. Rant over. Unless you been led under a rock today you will be well aware that today, March 9th marks the 15th anniversary since Notorious B.I.G. real name Christopher Wallace passed away after being hit with 4 bullets to the chest in Los Angeles.

I have even seen some fools moan about people paying homage to Biggie on Twitter. Earlier some dude tweeted & I quote “why the fuck are people talking about Biggie, it’s been 15 years, get over it”. I was shocked, I don’t care if it’s 15 years or 100 years Hip-Hop heads across the world are going to join forces and pay their tributes to a legend. For my Because I Felt Like It video this week I ofcourse have gone with some Biggie material. “Big Poppa” above is probably my favourite record from BIG, just, closely followed by “The What” with Method Man. So sit back, relax and enjoy folks. I have added a WHOLE BUNCH of videos/tracks under the jump.

R.I.P. Christopher George Latore Wallace, AKA Notorious B.I.G.

Originally found on Cube’s 1992 LP “The Predator” and later appeared on his “Greatest Hits” album, press play, sit back and relax, the weekend is here folks & it’s time to enjoy yourself. Video: Because I Felt Like It: Rakim – When I B On Tha Mic

So last night I was chilling, kicking back and watching Twitter go fucking mad over the Giants Superbowl victory. Being from the sunny (not really) UK the Superbowl is not really a big deal to me, hell I don’t even know the NFL rules *waits for abusive comment*. Anyway, whilst I was kicking back with a bottle of Corona with the iPod on shuffle. I was in a suttle mood, just steadily letting the device flick through on it’s own devices. Then THIS SHIT came on and I was up and dancing around my crib like a mad man. What else you need other than the God MC & the DJ Premier scratches? This lived on his 1999 album “The Master”. In my best Rakim voice, THIS RIGHT HERE IS FOR ALL OF Y’ALL.

Video: Because I Felt Like It: Kanye West – The Making Of ‘Late Registration’

It brings me JOY watching mini-documentaries like this. Though Kanye’s Late Registration is my least favorite LP from him, the instrumentation on this project is fucking INCREDIBLE. And to be honest? Watching this again is making me re-think my order of Kanye’s favorite albums. Correction, 808′s & Heartbreaks is my least favorite. Man, just watching this is fucking beautiful. Sit back and take notes. Part two (which at the start might be a tear jerker) and three under the hood. Oh, I also included Ye preparing for the Late Registration Orchestra concert/album he did. Good night!  Read More
