Last night, J. Cole stopped in the 97214 to play his upcoming album (but not before stopping by a fan’s house to play it), 2014 Forest Hills Drive, for a few radio/industry types. Initially, a live tweeting event was sanctioned to accompany this gallery of pictures (these were asked to be kept to a bare minimum), but those permitted to attend the session were asked to please keep details about the event private. Word on this did not come down until late in the day; out of respect for the artist, we certainly obliged. Overall, though, it was a very enjoyable experience. You can grab the Fayetteville, NC native’s third studio album everywhere on December 9th. Pre-orders HERE.
If trips to King Of Diamonds inspire new music like this from Jigg with every visit, I might have to start sponsoring ‘em. My favorite new MC from the 305 blessed the fans with “March 12th,” a freebie before his new mixtape High Grade 3 drops soon. A soulful beat + Jigg having fun with it on the track is a recipe for success. Check out the new single after the jump.
Well, here’s something new from someone new to me, and probably new to you. Brooklyn’s own Drew Godson hops on a smooth ?uestlove instrumental and serves us some gospel on wax. Definitely looking forward to hearing more from this kid – good thing he’s got a new project, The God Spell, coming soon! For now, check out our first taste of Drew with “3rd Day Complex” below.
Queens, New York MC Conflik speaks nothing but truth on his latest single, “Them Dollars.” Over a mesmerizing beat provided by Bravestarr, LoudER’s own Con raps the age old saying that will always ring true – chasing girls won’t always bring you money, but chasing money will always bring you girls. “Them Dollars” will live on Conflik’s upcoming project, which has yet to be titled.
New York has be steadily on the come up with artist such as Troy Ave & Action Bronson restoring the sound and essence that we loved so much. Now we have a new comer by the name of YaBoy Mello who is also picking up the torch and bringing his touch of that NEW NEW YORK sound. Assisting him is proudction-duo The Garden, together they created “that feeling” that the masses have been waiting for.
