Chrysler continues their Imported from Detroit campaign with a dope video featuring the Selected of God Choir performing Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”. Eminem’s upcoming festival appearance at Ireland’s Tennent’s Vital, is apparently in jeopardy due to the proximity of the festival to a Missionary Convention at a church down the street. According to The BoomBox Blog residents in protest over Marshall’s vile lyrics have filed a petition with the local council to block the entertainment license for the event as long as he is on the bill. The town council is scheduled to decide on the matter in July.
“I have no issue with a family-friendly concert in a park but this is a performer who uses the crudest language — language that degrades women and has the foulest, most twisted content,” Ashworth explained. “I have been doing a survey to determine how far the lyrics will be heard and local residents tell me that they heard previous concerts at the park. The council should never have allowed this.”
I’m pretty sure the show will go on as scheduled, but the entire idea of a bunch of uppity church going folks having their prayers interrupted by the lyrics to “Kill You” just made me giggle.
According to the good folks over at HitsDD Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″‘s collaborative EP is on tap to bring in 150-160k in sales and has no guarantee of the coveted #1 ranking. Coming up close behind is 11 year old Jackie Evancho’s Dream With Me which is on tap to sell 140-150k.
While those numbers might seem good for an EP on the surface it’s stunningly low for an Eminem project. To date his lowest numbers on any project occurred in 1999 when the Slim Shady EP clocked in at 284k. The barely promoted Re-Up Mixtape sold 309k copies its opening week.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Eminem loyal will make a mockery of the early predictions similar to what they did last year for Recovery.

Despite Bruno Mars killing this hook, I’m not feeling this like I’d hoped I would be. Em and Royce both come solid on their verses so it’s not that.. I can’t quite put my finger on it.

The Detroit boys, Eminem and Royce, are finally back together to cause absolute carnage June 15th with “Hell: The Sequel.” This is definetly the kind of track you would expect as far as Shady and Nickle go. Zany, lyrical and crazy stabs on a deep bass line, topped off by a classic Mike Epps sample. Yup, theeeeere back!
