In this month’s issue of XXL Magazine, Jamie Foxx, who spoke on creating his latest LP Best Night Of My Life, working with Soulja Boy and his new sketch comedy show on Fox this Spring, Foxx revealed his thoughts on working with Drake back in 2009 for the official remix of “Digital Girl” and how it was his sister that put him up on game.
Jamie Foxx: We were in Aruba, and my sister’s like “You gotta hear this kid Drake.” She pulled him up on the internet, and the dude said, “I forgot to call you on your birthday.” I said, “Whaaaaat?” I literally got a robe, some wine and just sat up there on the beach and listened to his whole thing. Drake is speaking to the women in such a way that made the men mad.

Last week Jamie Foxx held an intimate but festive album listening session for his new LP Best Night Of My Life at The Samsung Experience Center in NYC. Presented by Digiwax, J Records and Power 105.1, the event drew a bevy of industry tastemakers and Jamie Foxx advocates. The Breakfast Club (DJ Envy, Angela Yee & C. Tha God) also spoke with Jamie about the creation of the project and other projects.
After the jump, peep how the the listening session/Q&A turned into an impromptu party that brought out an unexpected appearance/performance from El Debarge in which both Foxx and Debarge flexed their vocal muscles for a pregnant attendee. Yes I was there. Yes I was drunk. And yes I don’t remember half the shit that happened lol. Sue me!
In related news, congrats to Jamie for moving 144K of Best Night Of My Life with little to NO promotion. What? There wasn’t any!
Jamie recently sat with NYC’s 107.5 radio and TV personality, Egypt, and spoke on everything from his daughters, his love life, the possibility of playing Richard Pryor and much more. While speaking about the song Fall For Your Type he proclaimed he has a thing for crazy women. As an example he tells a story about his ex who walked up to him in a club shortly after they broke up, looked at his date whom he admits was her spitting image and proclaimed her to be a “knock-off”.
“She comes over walks right up to me and the girl and says: “Oh Jamie really? This is a knock-off”. On everything, then shook the girls hand and said: “Oh you don’t know me? Me and Jamie dated exclusively for three years. Anyway, bye Jamie.” kisses me and walks off”.
LOL! I think I speak for all the ladies when I say if you replace us with an artificial us we’re going to clown you. No crazy required.
