Nas sits down with MTV to talk on the Heavy-D production on his new single “The Don”.
“When Salaam played me the beat for it, I said, ‘That’s the single — do this and do that and we’re golden.’ So he started flipping it around. When we heard that Heavy D died, of course we were messed up, and Salaam called me and told me, ‘You know your record “The Don”? You know who gave me that, right?’ He’s like, ‘Heavy D gave me that. He liked what we did with the other single, “Nasty,” and he sent me this record.’ And the rest is history. So rest in peace, Heavy D.”

With Nas’ “The Don” single impacting yesterday I thought I’d dig into the Nas vault. I deicided to post “Just A Moment” with Quan from his “Street’s Disciple” album. The hook by Quan is one of my favorites, ever. This is a incredible record, helped me through alot back at school. Everytime I listen to it I just close my eyes and think, just drift away into another place, that’s the sign of a powerful record. So, can we please pour some liqour..
Having B.o.B., T-Pain, J. Cole & John Legend on her album wasn’t quite enough for the young Melanie Fiona. On her latest single she is joined by Nas. Not a bad look. “The MF Life” hits stores and online outlets on March 20th. Strwam below. Pre-order the album here.
Premiered yesterday by Flex the internet went nuts for this shit, including me. After a few good listens something dawned on me, is it single material? I don’t know. It’s jammin, don’t get me wrong but is it lead SINGLE material? Time will tell I guess. Nas’ tenth studio album is done, now let’s get the ball rolling with a release date Nasir.
