It’s that time again I linked up with Dominic Owen to bring you some more unreleased material from the GOD MC. Here we have an unreleased version of Rakim’s Bring It On which was recorded in the same session as the previous unreleased Rakim I let loose. Recorded back in April 1995 at the High Class Studios, Brooklyn.
Dominic Owen and Rakim linked up in 1995 and recorded Rakim’s New York To Cali. Producer Dominic this morning slides over an unreleased version of the track recorded during the same session, anything new from the GOD MC is fucking good with me. Recorded at High Class Productions, Brooklyn, New York.

Reebok and Complex have teamed up to present “The Definition Of A Classic”. The 9-minute document shows us Rakim aka The God Emcee’s roots where he grew up, his partnership with Eric. B, and more. Inputs come from Rakim himself, DJ Premier, EiC of Complex, Noah Callahan-Bever & Def Jam publicist Bill Adler.
Rakim sits with Montreality where they discuss the type of student he was in his school, what he spent his first big paycheck on A$AP Rocky, who God is, what he thinks he was in his previous life, what books have influenced his life and plenty more.
U-Batt.TV brings you a brand new interview with Rakim following his show in Montreal, Canada a week back. The legendary emcee speaks on his greatest accomplishments, what he would be doing if he wasn’t emceeing & more.
So last night I was chilling, kicking back and watching Twitter go fucking mad over the Giants Superbowl victory. Being from the sunny (not really) UK the Superbowl is not really a big deal to me, hell I don’t even know the NFL rules *waits for abusive comment*. Anyway, whilst I was kicking back with a bottle of Corona with the iPod on shuffle. I was in a suttle mood, just steadily letting the device flick through on it’s own devices. Then THIS SHIT came on and I was up and dancing around my crib like a mad man. What else you need other than the God MC & the DJ Premier scratches? This lived on his 1999 album “The Master”. In my best Rakim voice, THIS RIGHT HERE IS FOR ALL OF Y’ALL.
Angie Martinez is the fucking don for setting this up. In ASAP’s last interview with the lovely Angie he revealed that he is named after the god MC Rakim. ASAP’s real name is Rakim for the slow ones. Angie said she would get Rakim to meet ASAP, well she stuck to her word. Great watch. Part 2 under the hood.
